Cardiac acidosis detected by Heart Guard in first preclinical study

Last days Heart Guard system was tested on animal model - for the very first time. The aim of the experiment was to check if Heart Guard system can detect heart acidosis in a living animal. During this operation animal’s heart was arrested with cardioplegic solution, the same as used in clinical practice. Blood flow through heart arteries was stopped and its metabolism was almost completely switched-off.

Heart Guard was located on the left ventricle of the heart. After some time, Heart Guard detected acidosis. Such acidosis in real life clinical scenario leads to severe complications and even to death. And so, this happened in this animal model, too.

Critical data were collected and in following weeks several improvements will be implemented. Then, whole system will be checked again – till it will reach optimal functionality.
